Assessing and Enhancing the Security Control for a Shipping Firm

The Background
Our client was founded in 1988 in Singapore to manage a fleet of 6 chemical tankers owned and/or bareboat chartered. Since then, it has progressed into competitive ship management with a fleet of over 60 vessels for owners based in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the USA and the United Kingdom.
This ship management client was the victim of a sophisticated cyber-attack which resulted in undue expenses. In addition to responding to the attack, the client was required to provide an answer to the third-party partners involved in the breach.
The Process
Pragma highlighted vulnerabilities in the environment by conducting a security assessment and improvements to be made for the incident response lifecycle.
The Result
Our recommendations and final assessment enabled our client to handle cyber incident appropriately and to strengthen their detection and response capability.
